No lights, no fan running, no sound/beep, no sign of any activity on my PC. Be sure to do the following: 1. Turn-off your computer (if it is still turned-on). 2. Make sure the following are properly seated: [ Instructions: Plugs are generally of the same exact size as the opposite socket. If they are not of the same size and shape, do not force connecting the two. Also, if you have no idea, meaning, there are no markings on the power sockets of what voltage it provides, and you do not know what the device you are plugging-in requires, please, DO NOT PROCEED. Consult someone near who knows these things.] a. monitor video cable connected at the video out port of your PC. Check your manual for proper port identifica- tion. b. monitor power cable: one end is plugged at the back of your monitor, the other end at the power strip (or AVR, or UPS). For the power cord, make sure you are plugged in the right voltage outlet. Check your manual for pro- per voltage requirements. c. cpu power cord: one end connected at the power supply, the other end at the power strip (or AVR, or UPS). d. power strip (or AVR, or UPS) is connected at the proper power wall outlet. Note the proper voltage ratings. 3. Turn (adjust) your monitors' brightness level to maximum. Later, when you already see something displayed on your screen, you may adjust it to normal level. Normal level generally means the background is black while the text display is white. 4. Turn-on what you have, begin with your UPS, AVR, power strip (in that exact order). 5. Turn-on your printer, after 30 seconds to one minute, turn on your monitor, after the same interval, turn-on your CPU. 6. Does the computer still look dead to you? Repeat from step 1 above and see if you missed anything.
